About Me

I am a mother to 5 children who were all born by caesarian section.  One of my children died shortly after birth and this blog is dedicated to him.  He remains in my heart always.

I stayed home to care for my children for over 21 years, During those years and following Ben's death, I volunteered my services to Sands in South Australia.  The provided me with the support I needed to enable to me cope in those very early days and give me hope for the future.  I volunteered as I felt I would be able to help others who had a similar experience and also give them that hope to continue their journey in life - a different life.

I eventually found a part time position working with those mother's who had given up their children for adoption. Another area where I could just be there and listen as Mum's told me their stories of what it was like for them to have to relinquish their precious baby.

Following this position which I held for close on 10 years I commenced working with the public service in an area where we hold conference for those parents whose children have been removed due to care and protection issues. Another area of loss and grief that is experienced.

I continue to volunteer for Sands, currently being the Sands Tasmania representative on the National Council.  I believe Sands is a vital organisation that will expand over the coming years ensuring that there is always support available to bereaved parents.
